Buddhist practices have long striven to achieve clarity, awareness and a greater understanding of our human experiences. The adoption of this approach by medical science and psychology has seen Buddhist practice come to the forefront of innovative treatments for depression, anxiety and the achievement of general well-being. Come along and learn about the developments in this exciting field, such as Mindfulness Meditation, and experience its benefits through guided experiential exercises.
Speaker Bio: Chien Hoong is a registered Psychologist who is currently involved in clinical research applying Buddhist mindfulness practices in the treatment of anxiety disorders as part of ongoing training to complete his postgraduate in Doctor of Clinical Psychology. He is the former Buddhist Chaplain at the University of New South Wales and has led workshops and given talks at the Buddhist Library, Buddhist Council of NSW and to the Buddhist youth community.
